Sally Davies Counselling & Yoga
BA Hons, PGDip, MBACP (Accred)
I am an experienced integrative therapist based in Bristol. I have always been curious about other people’s lives and very empathic of others’ difficulties after my own chronic fatigue. Working in London for years was demanding so I trained as a yoga teacher and taught with an emphasis on relaxation.
But in 2012 I developed some unexplained back problems. After reading about how our emotional issues can manifest in our bodies, I decided to train as a counsellor. This taught me a lot about myself. I also had intensive psychoanalysis.
I mostly work long-term with clients, and look at all the influences on your life – your upbringing, school, relationships with family members and friends – in order to understand what has led you to where you are now. I look for patterns in events, relationships, the language you use. Often when we come to therapy we are really stuck: we know something is wrong but don’t know what or how to change it. I will help you to see what might be getting in the way of change and to move forward.
I love that my counselling work means that I always learning and am about to train as a supervisor. Alongside this, yoga and meditation have been my bedrock. For me, the two things work well together: the physical and the emotional.
I look forward to hearing from you, understanding your needs and exploring how we might work together.

Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by it’s ability to climb a tree it will live it’s whole life believing that it is stupid.
